Held in English, the classroom lectures provide participants with an overview of up-to-date information on China’s current business practices, regulations and procedures. The guest lecturers examine recent reforms on China’s economic and political structures including China’s entry to the WTO and winning bid for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

In 1997 Mr. Goodman opened Sammies, a café serving sandwiches, fruit smoothies, and desserts. By 2004 with revenues of US$1 million, he had created a corporate catering business with a recognized brand name, provided online ordering with a centralized production facility, and systemized the company for franchising.

Visits to joint-venture, state-owned, and wholly foreign-owned enterprises will provide participants with an understanding of the industry operations in China. Each visit includes a short seminar of the company’s operations and tour of the facilities.

Blue Zoo International has the majority interest in Beijing Gongti Richina Underwater World Entertainment Co Ltd, a Chinese-foreign joint venture that operates Blue Zoo Beijing. The Chinese partner in Blue Zoo Beijing is the Beijing Sports Service Centre for Workers.

Dragon Seal was established in 1994 as a joint-venture between Groupe Pernod Ricard and Beijing Winery, but since 2001 the Winery has been a fully state-owned enterprise. Dragon Seal is one of the only wineries in China that produces all of their wine from 100% Chinese-grown grapes. In 1999 Dragon Seal Cabernet Sauvignon (Vintage 1997) won “the Best Chinese Red Wine” at the Hong Kong International Wine Competition.
